FOSTER CARE UPDATE – WEEK 1
Katie has a lot of enthusiasm for everything. It’s all fun. Her nose is in every cupboard although she is learning which ones are not very interesting. She loves to play with all her toys and her favourite is crunching her tennis ball so it makes a popping noise. She is very food orientated so is easy to train. She has nearly learnt stay so is getting better at not trying to get out the front door.
FOSTER CARE UPDATE – WEEK 2
Katie continues to be very happy and contented. Whatever is going on she enjoys. She gets very excited at meal times and appears starving but it is just her usual enthusiasm and she only eats as much as she needs. She has learnt what stay means and that she must not grab human food. She still fancies my coffee but I only have to say no and she stops. She always answers immediately to her name and so far has not tried to get on the couch. She can be a bit of a bulldozer when she gets excited so we need to be aware and not get bumped off balance.
FOSTER CARE UPDATE – WEEK 3
Katie loves her food but does allow you to touch her whilst she is eating. She is a friendly girl towards adults and children. I believe Katie would be best suited to a family environment as I’m not sure how she will go as an only dog. She can pull strongly on the lead but settles after a few minutes. She destroyed my slippers however left her toys in tact, she understands the following commands – “stay”, “out”, “toilet” and “no”.
